There are so many things, big and small, to think about when you move into a new home. We tend to focus first on the things that directly impact our day-to-day lives, like getting the kids enrolled in a new school or having our mail forwarded at the post office. But if you have recently moved, don’t neglect your right ‐ and responsibility ‐ to vote!
Updating your voter record is not nearly as hard as you think, and if you’re reading this blog from a computer, you’re just one easy step away! All you need is an internet connection and your driver’s license to update your address in the Ohio voter registration system. Go to https://olvr.sos.state.oh.us/ovru/modify.aspx and follow a few easy prompts. It takes less than five minutes, and the Secretary of State’s office will follow up via postal mail with all the information you need to vote in the upcoming presidential election.
Don’t put it off! You have 30 days to make the change prior to an election, which means the due date for this year’s important presidential election ‐ Tuesday, November 8 ‐ is rapidly approaching. Take a few minutes now to make sure your voice is heard in November!
