The city of Hilliard, with an estimated population of approximately 30,000, is a large, northern suburb of metropolitan Columbus. It’s bordered by Dublin, Galloway, Upper Arlington and Columbus. With open farmland to the west, the downtown Columbus skyline is visible at times when crossing bridges to the southeast. Major shopping areas, the Ohio State campus, the Columbus Zoo, downtown Columbus and Port of Columbus Int’l. Airport are all just a short drive away.
Hilliard hosts a Fourth of July parade and fireworks display that overlooks the west pool/municipal park. The Franklin County Fair grounds are also located here. Old Hilliardfest Street and Art Fair is held in downtown Hilliard and is sponsored by the Civic Association. Also, the city has 20+ developed parks that range from wooded natural areas to active athletic facilities and five shelter houses in the Roger A. Reynolds Municipal Park can be reserved for family or corporate outings.
For recreation, Hilliard has two pools (west and east), a Municipal Center/Senior Center next to the west pool, YMCA and many public baseball and soccer fields, as well as basketball and tennis courts.
The Hilliard City Schools district is sought after and is a high-performing public school district. The private schools in this area are The Sunrise Academy and St. Brendan School.
