Groveport is a growing central Ohio suburb in southeastern Franklin County. The community has a rich history, even predating the opening of the Ohio & Erie Canal in 1831 and the City’s incorporation in 1847. The community’s historic roots and proud heritage are still evident today. The immaculately restored Town Hall building at Main & Front Streets is the centerpiece for Groveport’s historic downtown business district.
The residents enjoy big city amenities in this small hometown city with impressive amenities that include the Groveport Recreation Center & Aquatic Park, a $15 million state of the art facility boasting 67,000 square feet of fitness, recreation, aquatics and the 450,000 gallon outdoor aquatics park; a cultural arts center, art gallery, and The Links at Groveport 18-hole golf course, formerly a private country club which is now owned and operated by the City of Groveport and open to the public.
Due in large part to the presence of Rickenbacker International Airport and Air National Guard Base, Groveport is home to the headquarters of a number of large companies, including Air Tahoma and Staber Industries. Other organizations with significant operations include Amazon.com, Gap, Inc., Eddie Bauer, Spiegel Brands, American Electric Power and VistaPrint.
Groveport Madison School District serves this suburb. Nearby private schools include Madison Christian School and Harvest Preparatory School.
